If you get what you wished, but not what you asked for.......

After an x-ray on March 19 we were sure: Boya was carrying only one puppy......
The big question was, ofcourse, if it would be healthy and would be able to be born naturally. The vet and we
decided to give it time until Thursday 26. If the pup wasn't born by then, Boya had to undergo a cesarean.
On the 26th Boya had full dilation but not enough contractions so we had to decide she was going to be operated.
At 12.05 there he was: a healthy and beautiful male puppy, 565 grams!!!

Boya's pregnancy is confirmed, but according to the vet she is only carrying a few puppies...
She is 5 weeks pregnant and doing well.

Finally! Boya started bleeding after having us wait for such a long time!
She was supposed to have her bleeding in November, but she decided differently and just when
I almost gave up hope, the time was here and I had to start preparing for the long trip to the Ukraine....
We arrived in Uzhgorod on Sunday - 1800 km by car - and Artur and his owner Violetta and breeder Irina
arrived on Monday after a journey by train of 1,5 days. Artur did not waste any time and
Boya was mated on March 23, and once again the next day.
Now we can only wait patiently and hope that this event was a successful one....
But this Dutch-Ukrainian union would not have been possible without the help of many friends so

MATING PLANS
We hope to mate Boya with Artur Iz Slavii in the Spring of 2009.
Artur lives in the Ukraine and is Ukrainian Champion.
